Happy Friday the 13th! Just for fun post
Good morning LWs! Happy Friday the 13th! Just 1 quick question this week. It looks like we have alot of animal lovers on this board. Tell us about your pets. Cindy
We had a 15 yr old German Shepard. He passed away almost 2 yrs ago. There's not a day that goes by that I dont think about our JoJo. We are considering adopting another dog.
We also have a 50 gal aquarium filled with tropical fish.
And I have 3 bird feeders outside which bring in birds, deer, and a couple crazy squirrels.
My Sister lives next door. She has 2 cats which I love as my own.

I currently have no pets of my OWN, but....
When I was married we had a dog, who still is around. An old half lab half American Eskimo. He's old and it will be hard to see him leave...
I put my kitty down a few months ago. She had kitty dementia and I couldn't handle it anymore.
My BFs dog is an English Springer and absolutely the best dog. He's very sensitive and wants to please beyond belief.
I'm trying to find a home for my sons kitty. The ex-DH has her and says when the dog is gone he doesn't intend on having a cat. He doesn't have time for one (plus he's not a cat person).
Tom's daughter wants a puppy. Tom told her for her and I to find one we both want. I'm not really wanting one... I have a feeling I know who will be taking care of it. She'll have all the fun... I'll have the mess.

Ok then, here goes
Dogs, well we have 3. Ziggy is a Mountain Fiest, about 12 lbs and looks like a smooth coated jack russell with a tail and ***** ears. She is the old lady of the bunch at 15, sleeps with us every night, hates storms.
Thor is a rough coated Jack Russell. It says something when you tell someone that your jack russell is the good child of the bunch. Very "hail fellow well met" Everyone loves him.
Max is a rescue Min Pin, 7 lbs of whoop-ass. A real trouble maker. But also a real snuggler and love. He and Thor are 13.
Ponies
Poppy, 13yr Morgan pony mare who was my main driving pony for years, now I ride and drive her.
Chili, 11yr Shetland pony gelding who is my "pony I never got for Christmas". He is my main competitive driving pony now.
Dancer, 34yr old quater horse. My sisters horse who lives with me. Retired, does nothing by aggravate me most of the time.
Donkeys
Buster, my mini jack gelding who drives and does theraputic work, going to nursing homes, camps, etc
Tulip, Truffles, Lily, the jennies that occasionally have babies. Jasmine, the 2 yr old who is in Charlotte on loan.
All of the donkeys "work" at the farm with my clients who groom them, clean stalls, feed, etc because I think everyone, no matter what their functioning level has increased self worth when they do "real" work.

30's is really old. He was retired from work at 10 with arthritus so he has had a long time of doing nothing but being a horse. Donkeys on the other hand can live into their 40s with good care.

i've got a 7 year old miniature daschund...black and tan.....her name is daisy......she doesn't know she's a dog! precious beyond words! when i had to deal with the declining health and subsequent deaths of my parents.....well....she would sit in my lap and cry with me! she really, really loves her mama!!! and her mama loves her!!
We had a 14 years old mini daschund that was black & tan named Daisy!!! She was our child and we loved her so much. She died in 2007. DH and I came home and cried everyday when we walked in the door - it was so sad. She is buried in our flower garden in the front yard and we have a marker and keep flowers on it for her. We had such a hard time we had to get another pet. I'll tell about him in my post.

i've cried many tears for my daisy....her back went out a couple of years ago and she had to have back surgery....$3500 worth of back surgery! she was in doggie ICU and everything...had to have emergency surgery on a sunday morning.....i cried over my baby girl!! i grieve over the fact that she can't sleep with me any more (afraid she'll jump off the bed during the night and re-injure her back).....but her crate is right by my bed and she seems pretty happy as long as she's in the room with her mama....she's a sweetie! my daddy lived with me for about 1 1/2 years after my mom died (before his stroke) and that baby girl would lay in his lap and keep him company all day every day.

Last Saturday we adopted a 9 mo Lab/Hound mix from a rescue. Cody is wonderful!! Very laid back, doesn't chew (only his treats), crate trained, loves kids....how this dog became a rescue I have no idea!! He is perfect and we are so in love with him!!
Our 6yo dd is so thrilled to have a pet. Our Irish Setter passed away 3 years ago and we have been patiently waiting for a new family member that fit in just right. So glad we found him :)

I've determined I am not a 'real' animal lover-- I would much rather visit them at someone Else's home then have them in mine. But I have several animals that brighten everyone else life in my home. They just annoy me sometimes but most of the time I am indifferent...(live with them and could live without them)- I hate slop / messes, smells, fur, dander, and drool. I value my belongings and animals don't- although I can say these animals are well behaved and we don't generally have issues.
3 Cats (1 Maine coon, 1 sphynx, 1 tabby)
2 dogs (1 mini doxie, 1 great dane)
1 ferret
4 kids & 1 husband (oh they just act like animals!)
My favorite animal is the great dane---He just is a goof. I would be 100% satisfied if it were just him.
